possible radiator/possible fan/possible belt/possible brake overheating problems

my car was fine at lunch today when i drove to the park for some alone time. when i left work, driving to olive branch to see my new dog, i noticed one of my gauges near the red zone...like it was overheating.

ew brother.

i was in orange mound at the time and slowly made my way back home. i don't mind walking to work- i walk everywhere else- but if paul parker was still around, i'd be able to ask someone what's wrong with my car. now i've got to pay some bum to look at it and charge me tons of money for something i could probably do myself. when it cools down, i'm going back out to check the air filter- it's all i can do for now.

sigh. i'm not as bummed about it as i thought i would be; i'm actually more upset that it's happening out of nowhere, like a surprise. like a shitty, rainy surprise.
